Who I Am:

I am currently a doctoral candidate at Marywood University, and I recently completed my APA accredited internship at Adler Community Health Services. I have been providing therapy services for the past five years and have worked in private practice, college counseling, and community mental health settings. I enjoy providing both therapy and assessment services. I am passionate about serving the community and find it rewarding to help clients gain insight to lead a more fulfilling and purposeful life.

Who I Work With:

I enjoy working with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and couples.

I especially enjoy helping people who are navigating big changes in their life or who feel ready to make some big changes in their life. My clients often have intense emotions that can make it hard to connect or communicate with others. They may want healthy relationships or have a vision for the life they want, but are struggling to turn that vision into reality. I welcome helping you with this individually or collaboratively in your couple or family relationships.

I also love helping adolescents and young adults navigate the stress and anxiety that comes with managing the academic concerns, relationship challenges, and the major life changes associated with those phases of life.

With younger children or adolescents, I enjoy partnering with parents or other caretakers who feel the stress of their child’s big emotions or challenging behavior. Together we can try to understand these experiences and how to help your child be successful at home and at school.

Regardless of age, being willing to explore different goals for yourself and being open to working together to take steps to achieve these goals sets the foundation for becoming the best version of yourself.

My Interests:

I am interested in helping people with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), personality disorders, eating disorders, identity issues, phase of life issues, parenting difficulties, relationship difficulties, emotion regulation problems, suicidal thoughts, and a history of trauma.

I am especially interested in helping people understand and manage patterns in mood (such as depression and anxiety) that can be so influential in their thinking, relationships, and the choices they make each day. I like to provide information and resources to better understand these symptoms and learn new ways to cope with and manage those difficulties.

My Philosophy and Approach to Treatment:

Change can be hard and sometimes we need extra support to get through trying times. Therapy is a great place to process and explore changes you are navigating as well as changes that you want to make. This type of change may not be easy, but with the right skills and support you can successfully navigate the transition.

In therapy, we will work together to identify your goals. These may include wanting to accept and embrace change, move forward from feeling stuck, build support, take steps toward healing, increase happiness, or finding new meaning and purpose. Every client is unique in what they need, and I am committed to trying to understand your perspective so that we can best address those needs.

To help you reach your goals, I like to use a strengths-based approach that emphasizes the concept of resilience. I use a combination of evidence-based techniques from both cognitive behavioral therapy and interpersonal therapy. This may involve reflecting on thoughts and feelings, exploring ways to change those patterns, and learning new skills to help create change, while at the same time trying to understand and manage relationship dynamics that may be influential in evoking change.

I also greatly value the therapeutic relationship and strive to be empathic, genuine, and accepting with my clients. It is important to me that my clients feel seen, heard, and understood in sessions. My goal is to create a safe and comfortable environment so you can be yourself and speak freely. Open communication is important, so I always encourage and welcome your feedback to ensure that your experience in therapy is positive, meaningful, and valuable to you.
