Full-Time Postdoctoral Fellow


Postdoctoral Fellows have the opportunity to sharpen their clinical skills related to both therapy and testing services in a comfortable, urban, private practice setting. They also have the opportunity to actively participate as part of our training team, growing as a Clinical Supervisor. We believe in Mentoring our fellows to prepare them for careers in either running a private practice, working as a clinical supervisor or training director, or working in non-profits as providers or leaders.

How you would spend your time:

  • 40-hour/week position with the expectation that at least 20 hours per week are spent in direct service hours consistent with licensure requirements.

  • Provide therapy services to your ideal clients.

    • Provide individual, family, and/or couples therapy to private-pay or insurance-based clients.

    • Receive referrals, support, and training related to:

      • Working with Autistic and other Neurodiverse folx, LGBTQ people, people who have experienced complex trauma, and people living with chronic pain, among others. We value an anti-racist approach to considering how identity, oppressive systems, and other cultural considerations intersect to inform client experience and our treatment approach.

      • Assessment and treatment of complex trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and personality disorders.

      • Utilizing treatment models including ACT, DBT, relational approaches, somatic approaches, or other trauma-informed or evidence-based methods.

    • Opportunities to assist or lead DBT Skills Groups, or to develop and run other groups of interest.

    • You have the option to provide therapy services remotely or in our comfortable office spaces.

  • If desired, provide testing services as well.

    • We use a hybrid testing approach with both virtual and in-office components.

    • Opportunities for testing across the lifespan with private-pay and insurance-based clients.

    • Receive referrals, support, and training related to:

      • Neurodiversity-affirming assessment approaches.

      • Assessment of ADHD and Autism in adults, women, and people with more subtle presentations.

      • Assessment of cognitive functioning, attention, memory, and executive functioning.

      • Trauma-informed assessment approaches.

      • Assessment to clarify diagnoses related to complex mood presentations, trauma, personality disorders, or thought process and inform treatment recommendations.

      • Psychoeducational assessments, assessment of learning disorders, and assessment for academic accommodations.

      • Cultural considerations in testing and an anti-racist approach to assessment.

  • Receive weekly individual supervision with a Licensed Clinical Psychologist.

  • Receive Supervision and Mentoring around growing Clinical Skills as well as growing as a Clinical Supervisor or around the professional paths of either private practice or nonprofit work and management.

  • Opportunity to participate in weekly consultation groups related to testing or growing as a clinical supervisor.

  • Receive support around preparing for the EPPP (study time and support in planning a study strategy if desired).

  • Provide Individual and/or Group Supervision to Doctoral Externs.

  • Participate in Planning and Management of Didactic Presentation series for Diagnostic Externs. Provide Didactic Presentations on topics of interest.

  • Flexible scheduling that may include weekdays, evenings, or weekends. No evening or weekend requirements; Potential for strictly weekday scheduling if desired and consistent with desired clinical experiences.

 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Full-time W2 Position. $60,000 annual salary plus bonus potential

Ideal Applicant

  • Completion of a PsyD or PhD in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited Doctoral program.

  • Completion of an APPIC-member Doctoral Internship.

  • Interest and enthusiasm for supervision and training.

  • Enjoys providing therapy services. Bonus if you also enjoy doing testing.

  • Strong interest in Evidence-Based Practices and real-world application of those practices.

  • Interest in DBT, ACT, or Relational Treatment Models.

  • Interest in assessment and treatment of Trauma and Trauma-informed approaches.

  • Is interested in taking a Neurodiversity-affirming approach in clinical work.

  • Interest in issues of cultural competence and social justice.
